As textile company Astrid, renowned for its high-quality interior fabrics, joins Network of Design (NOD), Kasthall looks forward to a collaboration spanning everything from new market opportunities to unique design experiences. Kasthall’s and Astrid’s design worlds and materials complement each other beautifully, creating a whole new, combined offering for lovers of inspiring interiors. Operating with like-minded partners who share the company’s values around quality, sustainability, design and an international outlook fits seamlessly into Kasthall’s strategy.
Founded in 2003 and beloved by discerning architects and interior designers around the world, the Stockholm-based textile company Astrid is known for its high-quality interior fabrics and creative approach to combining colors and textures in interiors. With the company now joining the same group as Kasthall – the Altor-owned Network of Design (NOD) – Kasthall is excited to team up with Astrid in various projects.
Having recently undergone an extensive strategic overhaul covering the brand and collections, Kasthall is ready to meet the growing demands and opportunities in both the residential and contract markets.
“This collaboration strengthens Kasthall’s position in both these sectors. Going forward, we can offer complementary products for a wider variety of design possibilities in projects worldwide,” says Mirkku Kullberg, CEO of Kasthall, adding: “The combination of Kasthall’s expertise in rugs and Astrid’s textile offerings, such as curtains and upholstery, ensures a truly exceptional design experience that can enhance diverse spaces from private homes to high-end hotels, offices and restaurants.”
The partnership is mutually beneficial: with its attractive product range and brand experience, Astrid will unlock new project opportunities for Kasthall, while Astrid will get access to Kasthall’s global presence and showrooms in Stockholm, Malmö, Milan and New York, accelerating its international expansion. The companies will seek growth especially in the Nordics, but also in the United States and Italy, two major markets where Kasthall operates its own companies.
“Joining forces with Kasthall within Network of Design is an exciting step for Astrid. This partnership not only strengthens our international presence but also opens up new opportunities for collaboration with like-minded designers and architects. We look forward to inspiring new design experiences and sharing our passion for textiles with a broader audience,” says Anna Boustedt, founder of Astrid.
Shared values are the foundation of any successful relationship, and Kasthall and Astrid both believe in sustainability, quality and fostering a meaningful design culture.
“We are two companies with a passion for beauty. When planning this exciting new journey, it has been truly remarkable to see how Kasthall’s classic rugs, like Cecilie Manz’s exquisite ‘Landskab’ collection, come to life alongside Astrid’s stunning textiles,” says Kullberg.
This partnership allows both brands to showcase their products in innovative ways, offering clients fresh design possibilities and inspiring interior solutions. The first public appearance of this new collaboration will take place during Stockholm Design Week (February 3-9), as Astrid takes part in events at Kasthall’s showroom in the heart of Stockholm and Kasthall joins Astrid’s exhibition at the Stockholm Furniture Fair (February 4-8), giving the design community a first glimpse of their shared vision to the design community. In the coming months, the companies are set to collaborate on numerous exciting projects.
