Humanscale’s QuickStand Wins Best in Ten
Versatile sit/stand solution awarded coveted Best in 10 Award
Humanscale, the pioneer in ergonomic design, was recognized on December 3rd at the Best of Year Awards (BOYA), hosted by Interior Design, for the innovative and adaptable sit/stand solution, QuickStand™. QuickStand was awarded with the coveted Best in 10 award for Office Accessory, an award celebrating the greatest interior design product introductions from the past decade. This year, the A&D industry submitted almost 60,000 votes for 1,800 entries in 142 categories. The Best in 10 category, new for 2015, was created in honor of BOYA’s tenth anniversary.
QuickStand™ is a height-adjustable workstation designed to seamlessly transform any fixed-height desk into a flexible and active workspace. It was introduced in 2014 as a solution to promote movement and ergonomic comfort at work, just as the sit/stand revolution was coming into focus. As an ever-increasing number of employers are investigating ways to create healthier and more comfortable work environments, QuickStand presents an ideal solution. Retrofittable to any existing desk, it offers an innovative counterbalance mechanism, which enables a fluid transition from sitting to standing, enhancing the adaptability of the workspace and encouraging the user to move more throughout the day.
Featuring a sleek design, QuickStand offers stability, flexibility, and ease of use, as well as a minimal footprint. Its seamlessly integrated cable management system keeps work-surfaces clear and uncluttered. This lightweight office solution can accommodate multiple monitors and can easily be repositioned from desk to desk. It can be adapted to provide perfect ergonomic comfort for any user, and readjusted throughout the day as needs change.
Designed and developed entirely in Humanscale’s New York City-based design studio, QuickStand™ was created by Brad Augustine, Director of Design Engineering and Product Design, Mesve Vardar, Design Director and Vladimir Chumakov, Design Engineer III in Product Design.
