 About FXFOWLE

FXFOWLE has defined a practice that encompasses architecture, interior design, planning and urban development. With offices in New York and Washington, DC, the firm is committed to innovative design inspired by urbanism, technology and sustainable strategies. Founded in 1978, FXFOWLE is headed by eight partners, with a staff of over 140 architects, designers and urban planners. The basis of the firm’s practice is a collective, rigorous exploration of fit and form, driven by ideas about function, place, the form-making process and the role of design in human settlement. FXFOWLE’s work ranges from the scale of an individual building–office towers, multi-family residences, cultural facilities, K-12 and higher education institutions–to the city as a whole, addressing infrastructure and transportation.

In 2014, FXFOWLE launched its new Monograph, Reveal Filter Evolve Effect. Published by ORO Editions, the four-volume set adheres to shared bodies of ideas, and celebrates key concepts that define the firm’s creative philosophy and design methodology. The Monograph’s four terms crystallize the culture, process, and ideas that motivate FXFOWLE’s work– from individual structures to city plans. Reveal Filter Evolve Effect is available on www.amazon.com.
