Cork Wallcovering and Upholstery by Wolf-Gordon

On Display during Milan Design Week April 8-12, 2025

Wolf-Gordon, a leading American surface design brand, is proud to announce its participation in Casa Cork, a groundbreaking installation by David Rockwell and Rockwell Group, during Milan Design Week, April 8-12, 2025, Via Solferino 31. The company will feature its Betula cork wallcovering collection, highlighting its commitment to sustainable design and material innovation. A press preview will be held April 7, 2025.

Casa Cork, a collaborative effort with the sustainability-focused nonprofit Cork Collective and cork producer Corticeira Amorim, serves as a living laboratory, showcasing the versatility and eco-friendly attributes of cork. Wolf-Gordon’s Betula collection perfectly aligns with this mission, demonstrating how sustainable materials can meet the rigorous demands of the contract market without sacrificing aesthetic appeal.

“Wolf-Gordon is committed to providing design solutions that prioritize both aesthetic excellence and environmental responsibility. Our Betula cork wallcovering exemplifies this commitment, showcasing how sustainable materials can deliver exceptional performance and visual appeal.” – Marybeth Shaw, Chief Creative Officer, Design & Marketing

Wolf-Gordon’s Betula wallcovering, a key piece in the company’s growing cork collection of upholstery and wallcovering, showcases the beauty and sustainability of natural materials. This intricate birch-inspired design utilizes all parts of the cork bark, including residual elements, and is crafted from cork primarily sourced in its raw state from Portugal. In Portugal, the bark of live cork oak trees is carefully stripped, allowing it to regenerate every 9–10 years, thus maintaining the grove’s ecological processes. This growing collection of products sourced from a naturally regenerating material underscores Wolf-Gordon’s dedication to sustainable design, ensuring Betula offers both exceptional performance and environmental integrity.

Wolf-Gordon’s participation in Casa Cork underscores its dedication to promoting sustainable design practices and its role in advancing the use of eco-friendly materials in the contract market.
