Rewind and Connect at IIDA NY’s 30th Anniversary Party

Celebrate three decades with an unforgettable night of 90s-inspired fun
The International Interior Design Association’s New York Chapter (IIDA NY) invites the design and architecture community to celebrate 30 years of community and collaboration at IIDA NY’s 30th Anniversary Party. Join us on Thursday, September 18th, from 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM at the Teknion Showroom (641 6th Ave, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10011). Admission is free for designers and $65 for industry members.
Founded in 1995, IIDA NY is rewinding the clock to celebrate three incredible decades, commemorating its anniversary in true ’90s style. Attendees are encouraged to embrace fashion inspired by the era, featuring items such as neon windbreakers and overalls, band tees, platform sneakers, chokers, and bucket hats, while enjoying an evening of networking, nostalgia, and recognition. The night will feature a live DJ spinning throwback hits, interactive trivia, themed crafts, and a retro photo booth, along with classic snacks and refreshments.
Formed through the merger of the Institute of Business Designers (IBD), the International Society of Interior Designers (ISID), and the Council of Federal Interior Designers (CFID), IIDA NY was created to bring together design professionals under a single international association that drives the industry forward. Over the past 30 years, the chapter has connected designers across disciplines, fostered collaboration, and advocated for the interior design community. Today, IIDA NY includes a diverse membership of over 800 professionals across 10 specialty forums, providing rich opportunities for education, mentorship, and industry engagement.

With a strong focus on professional development, student advancement, sustainability, civic engagement, mentorship, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), IIDA NY champions initiatives and conversations that shape the design industry and extend beyond it. The chapter serves professionals throughout New York state, including its four city centers in Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo.
