First Issue of learninginsight Published Today by OI Publications

officeinsight magazine, a leading voice in workplace design media, today published the first issue of learninginsight magazine, a new publication dedicated exclusively to the design of educational spaces across K–12 and higher education.

Beginning with the very first issue today, learninginsight delivers in-depth coverage, analysis and conversation about the rapidly evolving landscape of school, college and university design — from innovative classroom environments and collaborative learning spaces to campus master planning and the growing intersection of technology and pedagogy. The publication serves architects, interior designers, facility managers, commercial interiors manufacturers, dealers, educators and administrators who are shaping the places where learning happens.

“Our mission at officeinsight magazine has always been to deliver the most important news and insights shaping workplace design. Today, with the launch of learninginsight magazine, we are expanding that commitment to serve the rapidly evolving world of educational design,” said Rob Kirkbride, editor-in-chief of OI Publications, which also brings readers viewpoint magazine and Converge. “Schools, colleges and universities are rethinking how learning happens and how environments can better support students, educators and communities. Those changes deserve the same thoughtful, expert journalism our readers have come to expect, and learninginsight is here to tell those stories.”

Jolene Levin

Leading the new publication are two of the most respected names in educational design: Jolene Levin and Lennie Scott-Webber. Both bring decades of experience, research and advocacy in learning environment design to their roles, positioning learninginsight as an authoritative and practitioner-informed resource from its first issue.

Levin is editor of learninginsight and defined and developed content for learninginsight as well as coordinated columns from experts in the field. She has built a career at the crossroads of design, education and human-centered thinking, with a deep understanding of how physical space influences student outcomes, teacher experience and community connection. Dr. Lennie Scott-Webber, whose “Reflection” column will be included in each issue, is a nationally recognized thought leader in learning environment research whose work has shaped how institutions across the country approach space planning and design strategy. As evidenced in today’s first issue, they bring a rare combination of on-the-ground practice, academic rigor and industry relationships that defines the editorial character of learninginsight.

The launch comes at a pivotal moment for educational design. Schools and universities nationwide are grappling with shifting pedagogical models, post-pandemic reassessments of physical space, increasing demands for flexibility and technology integration and renewed focus on student and faculty wellbeing. learninginsight is now the publication that follows these conversations with the depth and context they deserve.

The magazine is available digitally, consistent with the accessible, reader-first model that has defined officeinsight. Click here to sign up for a free subscription.
