Tour de France – Tour de Design

When I started cycling somewhat seriously, the only way to follow the Tour de France where I lived was by reading about it in the New York Times a day after the events took place. In 1986 when Greg Lemond was battling his own teammate, Bernard Hinault for the yellow jersey and the right to become the first American (and first non-European for that matter) to ever win the Tour, I was crazed each morning, searching the backpages of the Sports Section to learn what had happened the day before in France. In the post Team USPS and Lance Armstrong world, it’s not a problem to follow the tour. You can watch it repeatedly each day on NBC Sports, or you can buy an app and stream it live.
