Henning Karlsrud is stepping down as Group CEO following an agreement with the Board of Directors, according to a post on the company’s website. A search for a new Group CEO has been initiated, and Lars Syse Christiansen (CFO of Flokk) will take over as interim CEO.
“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Henning for his long-standing and significant contribution to Flokk, first as CFO and later as CEO, over a period of almost six years. Henning has developed the organization and established an important foundation for further improvement. At the same time, the parties have now agreed that it is time for a leadership change. Henning will remain available for a period to help ensure a smooth and orderly transition,” said Lars I. Røiri, chairman of the board.
“The years I have spent at Flokk have been a privilege. I am proud of the work we have done together with employees, management and the Board to position the company for the future. I sincerely wish the management team and the rest of the organization every success in the work ahead. My focus now is on contributing to a smooth transition,” said Karlsrud.

Karlsrud was part of an incredible growth spurt for the company. Flokk has since 2015 acquired a host of new brands including Stylex, Via, Spec and ergoCentric. It has also significantly strengthened its presence in North America.
Interim CEO Lars Syse Christiansen comes from the role of CFO and has broad insight into the company’s operations and priorities.
“I am grateful for the trust placed in me for this interim period, and I will contribute to continuing to deliver on the plans we have in place,” said Lars Syse Christiansen.
