Flokk Announces Strategic Expansion into the North American Market

Flokk, a European seating manufacturer that has expanded its portfolio through the acquisition of several North American competitors in recent years, formally announced its expansion in the U.S. with the establishment of Flokk US. As part of the expansion, Flokk has appointed a seasoned leadership team to oversee the North American operations, including Frederik Fogstad as chief executive officer, Randi Pastrovic as chief creative officer, and Rich Oliver as chief commercial officer. This new team brings a wealth of expertise to ensure each brand within the Flokk portfolio retains its distinct identity while advancing Flokk’s growth in the North American market.

Flokk’s scalable operations model has supported its growth. In the past three years, Flokk has seen substantial global expansion, with 90% of revenue now generated outside of Norway. Flokk US, the new parent company for Stylex and 9to5 Seating in the United States, is projected to become the company’s largest revenue-generating division. By maintaining each brand’s uniqueness, Flokk expects North America to contribute one-third of total company revenue, according to the company.

The U.S. division will be led by Fogstad, who joined Flokk in 2013 and has been instrumental in expanding Flokk’s presence beyond Europe, including the U.S. He brings decades of experience from previous roles at Kellogg’s and Coca-Cola, and most recently served as CEO of 9to5 Seating.

Joining Fogstad is Pastrovic, current senior vice president of Stylex, who will step into the role of chief creative officer of Flokk US. Pastrovic has more than 20 years experience in the commercial interiors industry, including five years at Stylex, which the company said will be used to shape Flokk’s U.S. product and marketing strategy.

Rich Oliver, previously chief commercial officer of 9to5 Seating, completes the executive team as the new chief commercial officer of Flokk US. With more than 25 years of sales management experience in the contract furniture industry, the company will lean on Oliver’s track record of driving revenue and building high-performing teams.
