A World of Color at Interstyle’s ColorLAB

A year ago, glass tile manufacturer Interstyle Tile launched ColorLAB, a creative design studio intended to provide a cohesive, streamlined toolkit to help designers apply glass tile to their projects. ColorLAB specializes in the process of blending color with glass. In their Vancouver studio, artisan color experts blend the finest ceramic pigments available to develop any hue a designer could dream up. This tradition in color traces back to about 40 years ago, to when Interstyle was founded by Ernesto and Georgia Hauner. Together, the duo began applying ceramic glazes to glass tile – something that hadn’t been done before – to create the “original modern glass tile.” Since then, they’ve built up a color collection numbering around 16,000 colors, becoming master color artists in the process.
